The Dream

I had this dream
In which I swam with dolphins
In open sea a transparent blue
(Maybe you dreamt it too)
And on the earth
The trees grew heavy with blossoms
The rainforests had not died
And the Amazon shined like an emerald

Somewhere, somehow, some way
We must hold back the dawn
While there&9s still time to try
Keep the faith, keep the dream alive

I had this dream
That we were all one family
Which war and famine could not undo
(Maybe you dreamt it too)
Our family name
Was either Kindness or Compassion
We recognized each other
And we recognized the light inside us

Listen, the cry for freedom
Echoes from Red Squeare to Soweto town
The barricades are broken now
The walls are tumbling down

"EVEN THE PAIN"
- YELLOWJACKETS: Club Nocturne (1998)
- original recording by Richard Page: Shelter me (1996)
Lyrics & Music: Richard Page (1996)

Three long years now
Since I&9ve seen her face
Three long years now
Since she left his angry place
Destiny called her
But too soon for her age
If I&9d only listened
She might be here today

And we&9re all gonna ride this river
And we&9re all gonna feel the rain
And we all take what we&9re give
Even the pain

Cold, tired and hungry
Now, she&9s movin&9 with the wind
And all I do is worry
&9Bout the pain she must be in
If only I could see you
"Tell me why you didn&9t write
Now ther&9s no one to defend you
And I can&9t sleep at night

And we see that light before us
Through the darkness and the shame
But it all breaks down before us
Even the pain

So roll on mighty river
Take us down to the sea
Wash away the muddy water
And set us free

But we see the light before us
Through the darkness and the shame
And it all breaks down
Yeah it all breaks down
Even the pain
Even the pain

"OUT OF TOWN"
- YELLOWJACKETS: Four corners (1987),
- Kevyn Lettau: Simple life (1992)
Lyrics: Kevyn Lettau / Music: Russell Ferrante/Jimmy Haslip

It&9s time to get away
To leave it all behind
Go take a holiday for the mind
You&9ll be amazed what you&9ll find

Out side take a ride
You&9ll see the open space
and you&9ll feel it, feel it
Deep in your heart and soul
You&9ll know you&9re out of town

Far from the madness
No phone in sight, no TV
Far from worldly plight
Believe in me, kick back
Watching the mountains
Reaching for the sky above your head

You gotta go, you gotta see
You gotta know, yeah, you&9ll agree
You gotta get yourself out of town!

Now I believe that city living&9s
always owned a certain kind of charm
So much to see and do, both day and night
No matter what you want
You&9ll find it up the block
The latest musicals
You&9d never have the chance to witness
When they hit the streets of town
If you decide this hectic pace
Is not the life for you, I understand
But let me tell you what it&9s all about

There is a certain kind of energy
You won&9t find in the sticks
It gives you drive
To be the best at what you do

Folks from all coners of the globe
